The stainless steel circle with the negative space star in the center are important symbols for these Art in Public Places sculptures. These two commissions are titled "Components of Public Safety(COPS) I and Components of Public Safety(COPS) II".
The material used for the interiors of the artwork are made from the raw steel from melted weapons. The guns and other weapons were collected by the Cease-Fire of Tampa Bay's gun buy back program and the Sheriff’s Office. The larger 6 ton sculpture is located in the historical district of Ybor City in Tampa, FL.The artwork picture to the left is COPS II and is subtitled; “Homage to the Fallen Hero”. The top component shape is on the ground next to the piece.
